About Us
Innovative Chocolate Sdn Bhd is a private limited company established since 2007 in Kuala Lumpur. The founders of Innovative Chocolate Sdn Bhd are bestfriends, Azrinna Bt Hamidun dan Sri Salawa Salawati Bt Harun who knows each other since their secondary school. Both of them have a very strong entrepreneurship family background. The main reason they start up this business because they themselves really love premium chocolate but could not find a reliable halal premium chocolate locally. That spurred the idea of opening a chocolate factory so that more people especially the Muslims could be rest-assured that the chocolate they are consuming are made exactly like the imported premium chocolate but certified halal.
Their passionate in confectioneries especially chocolate drove them to produce a lot of delicious, tasty and healthy chocolates. They made their own R&D to develop their own tasty chocolate recipes because both of them are scientist from Life Sciences Faculty, National University of Malaysia (NUM). Furthermore, Sri Salawa Salawati is a graduate of Food Science and Nutrition in NUM.
In 2001, right after their bachelor’s degree convocation, they registered an enterprise company called Innovative Chocoprint and started their chocolate journey. Along the years, both of them faced a lot of challenges; the ups and downs in business had prepared them with ample experience to grow further. A government agency, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) believed that this company have the potential to soar upwards, so MARA offered a new GMP factory to make sure this company is relevant and can be sustainable. Because of this reason, in 2007, they established Innovative Chocolate Sdn Bhd to explore export business.
Over the years, the company have expanded to cater more types of chocolate and cocoa based products; namely malt chocolate beverage powder, chocolate based spread, chocolate snacks and industrial chocolate (blocks, spread, sauce). The company have obtained necessary certifications and documentations in order to produce halal, safe and hygienic products which are export worthy.
